Privacy Policy

Music MCP is a Mac app that lets AI apps on your Mac search Apple Music and play songs. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.

1. What we collect

Nothing. Music MCP has no account, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no servers of its own. Coolplay receives no data from the app.

2. What stays on your Mac

Your settings, including the access token that AI apps use to connect, are stored only on your Mac.
The app's server only accepts connections from your own Mac (127.0.0.1), and every request needs your access token. Reset Access Token… in the panel disconnects every AI app at once.

3. Apple Music

With your permission, Music MCP uses Apple's MusicKit to search the Apple Music catalog, play songs and, if you allow it, read your library. These requests go directly from your Mac to Apple and are covered by Apple's privacy policy.

4. Your AI app

An AI app you connect receives information through Music MCP, such as search results, the song that's playing and your queue. If you turn on Share Library & History, it can also read your library, your playlists and recently played music. Sharing is off by default, and you can turn it off at any time in the panel.

If you turn on Allow Library Changes, your AI can also create playlists, add music to your library and love or dislike songs on your behalf. These changes go directly from your Mac to Apple. Your AI can't delete anything. This is off by default, too.

Your AI app may send this information to its provider. You choose which AI apps to connect, and their providers' privacy policies cover how they handle it. Coolplay has no access to it.

5. Support requests

If you email us, we use your email address and the content of your message only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete support emails once they are no longer needed for that, unless we must keep them for legal reasons.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Since the app collects no data, these rights mainly concern support emails. To exercise them, contact office@coolplay.io.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Austria the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna — www.dsb.gv.at.

7. Children

Music MCP isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone.
